統計数理研究所セミナー『最近の実験計画法の発展』～Special Seminar on Recent Advances in DoE～

　統計数理研究所では、令和5年８月４日（金）午後に、来日中の台湾中央研究院統計科学研究所のFrederick Kin Hing Phoa教授を招き、AI時代の実験計画法について下記の通り特別セミナーをハイブリッド方式で行うこととなりました。
実験計画の基本からの講演となります。
　実験計画法はこれまで、産業界で多くの活用がなされてきました。一方、人工知能・機械学習の進展に対応した進化も必要となっています。今般、当該分野で活躍している台湾中央院統計科学研究所のFrederick Kin Hing Phoa教授の来日を機に、教授とそのグループの研究を紹介し、関係者と議論を深めるために、本セミナーを開催いたします。

Abstract:
   Traditional design and analysis of experiments have been popular in many industrial applications and field studies in the past decades, but they are inadequate to provide efficient experimentations nowadays in the era of big data analytics and artificial intelligence. In this seminar, we first briefly review the basics of the design and analysis of experiments up to factorial designs, and we point out their limitations towards modern experiments due to their frameworks and underlying assumptions. Then we will introduce several advanced design and analysis methods for modern experiments developed by our research group in the past few years, and discuss how these advanced methods fulfill the specific needs and requirements in designing and analyzing these modern experiments. These modern experiments include, but not limited to, testing experiments in AI and robotics industry, network experiments, online controlled experiments, biomedical diagnosis, order-of-addition experiments, etc.
