【Title】
Some commutation principles for optimization problems over Euclidean Jordan algebras and transformation groups
【Abstract】
Commutation principles in Euclidean Jordan algebras (EJAs) consist of a class of optimization problems involving spectral sets and functions, where it is ensured that each (local) optimizer operator commutes with some element related to the objective function. In this talk, we introduce a new commutation principle in EJA for nonsmooth optimization problems. We also describe that the commutation notion can be extended beyond EJAs by considering transformation groups. Thus, we describe commutation principles on the space of rectangular matrices, on normal decomposition systems, on systems generated by hyperbolic polynomials, etc. Furthermore, we encompass all these systems and commutation principles by defining the concept of semi FTvN system.
