The 2nd Akaike Memorial Lecture Award
The 2nd Akaike Memorial Lecture was held as the session of 2018 Japanese Joint Statistical Meeting at the Korakuen Campus of Chuo University.
Prof. Tomoyuki Higuchi, Director-General of The Institute Statistical
Mathematics (ISM) and Prof. Masafumi Akahirai, President of The Japan
Statistical Society (JSS) presented the plaque and honorarium to Prof.
Mike West of Duke University, the awardee.
After the award ceremony, Prof. West gave his Akaike Memorial Lecture
whose title was "Bayesian Forecasting of Multivariate Time Series:Model
Scalability, Structure Uncertainty and Decisions".
Then Two young discussants, Dr. Jochi Nakajima, Bank for International Settlements and Dr. Christopher D. Glynn, Associate Professor of University of New Hampshire,
presented comments and had discussion with Prof. West after the lectrure.
And floor discussion was also held. The 1st Akaike Memorial Lecture finished
successfully.
We do hope this Akaike Memorial Lecture Award would be the regular
opportunity to promote international academic exchange for various researchers
and to develop the research field of statistical science.
