SOME GENERALIZATIONS OF FULLERENES

Since the discovery of molecule of C_60 (truncated icosahedron),
the fullerenes, i.e. simple polyhedra with only 5- and 6-faces, became the main
object of Organic Chemistry.
We review some generalizations and analogues of them and construct infinite
series of some new ones:
(i) with O. Delgado: fulleroids, i.e. simple icosahedral polyhedra with only
5- and m-gonal faces;
(ii) with M. Shtogrin: 4-dimensional analogues of fullerenes.
A non-polyhedral generalization - planar polycicles with only 5- and 6-faces
(interior ones) are also considered.
