研究目的と成果（経過）の概要

{0,1}-値系列において連に関する分布,とくに待ち時間分布について調べてきた。この研究が
{1,2,...,m}-値系列においてパターンに関する分布へと発展してきている。系列もiidからマルコフへと拡
張されてきている。
　本年の目的は,
(1){1,2,...,m}-値系列において任意のパターンの待ち時間分布を求めることと,複数のパターンのうち
どれかがはじめて起こるまでの待ち時間分布を求めること。
(2){0,1}m-値系列において任意の二次元パターンの待ち時間分布を求め,システムの信頼性への適用を
はかること。
以上であった。
　(1)については系列をマルコフとし,一般個のパターンのうちどれがはじめて起こるまでの待ち時間
分布の確率生成母関数を求める。副産物として2つのパターンのsooner and later problemsが解けた。更
にこの副産物として,一方のパターンの長さを∞とすることにより,マルコフ系列におけるパターンの
待ち時間分布の確率生成母関数を求まった。マルコフ系列をiidとすると,多値iid系列におけるパター
ンの待ち時間分布の確率生成母関数も求まった(以上Han and Hirano(2003))。このことからiid系列で
は逆順パターンの待ち時間分布がもとのパターンのそれに等しいことが確率生成母関数からわかる。し
かしこれはexchangeable系列で成り立ち,typical sequencesの数を調べることによって示される(Aki and Hirano(2002))。
　(2)については一部まとめることができたが,来年度に継続された。
　その他,平成10(1998)年度の申請で関連した研究のk-match problemsが公表された。
