******集計等の注意事項*********

1.質問番号、質問文、回答肢は実際の調査で使われた調査票を、そのまま表示した。ただし、質問文の改行などは変えた。原則として1頁に1質問項目、日系人のみを対象とした質問Jx.xは1頁に2質間項目を入れた。
各質問番号の前に、「7カ国国際比較調査」との共通質問については#番号を、1988年の「ハワイ調査」との共通質問はそこでの質問番号をHx.xとして、1999年の「アメリカ西海岸の日系人調査」との共通質問はそこでの質問番号をWx.xとして記した。

2.表中の数字は、各表側に該当する回答者数に対する比率である。パーセント表示で小数点以下2桁目を四捨五人してある。該当者が全くないセルは、'0.0'の代わりに'−'と記した。

3.クロス表の表頭の数字は、原則として調査票上の回答肢の番号通りであるが、コーディングし直したものについては、追加コード、修正コードなどとして、それぞれの個所に特記した。 「その他」「D.K.」については、調査票に記されているコードについては、回答者が全くない場合も記した。

4.クロス表の表側は、
日系人について、全体(JA)、性別(Male、Female)、20歳刻みの年齢別(20-39,40-59,60-)、日系人以外のハワイ住民(Ethnicityの詳細については、質間74を参照のこと)について、全体(Others)、性別(Male、Female)、年齢別((20-39,40-59,60-)および、
アメリカ本土生まれの白人(Caucasian(Mainland))、
日系人とそれ以外を含めたハワイホノルル住民(Honolulu residents)(選挙人登録者、サンプルリスト1のみ)
右端の整数はそれぞれに該当する回答者数である。

注)日系人の定義は、“Ethnic Identity”ではなく、調査員と本人の了解により、日系人用の調査を受けた人とする。ほとんどが「日系人」であるが、質問74(Ethnicity)への回答は、「Japanease」196人(206人中)、「Mixed」8人、「その他」1人、「沖縄」1人である。 日系人、それ以外のそれぞれは、サンブルリスト1とサンプルリスト2、両方のサンプルからの回答集計である。
日系人とそれ以外を含めたホノルル住民(Honolulu residents)は、サンプルリストlのサンプルのみの集計である。回答者449人(回収率21.4%)、そのうち日系人35.6%である。
サンブルリスト1は、サンブリング台帳から等問隔抽出されているので、回収率の間題を除けぱ、偏りのない回答者集団となっている。サンプルリスト2は、同様の別サンブルから、名前で日系人と推測される対象者のみを抽出して作成したため、ほとんど(46/51)が日系である。このため、両方を加えるのは統計的には適当でない。

5:質問80から93の所属団体を尋ねた質問については、単純な集計だけでは、深い意味をなさないので、ここでは集計を掲載しないこととした。
