The Invited Article of the first Akaike Memorial Lecture (with Discussion) on AISM has been published.

The Institute of Statistical Mathematics (ISM) and the Japan Statistical Society (JSS) founded the Akaike Memorial Lecture Award under their joint sponsorship in May, 2016. The first award ceremony and Akaike Memorial Lecture were held as the planning session of the JSS in the 2016 Japanese Joint Statistical Meeting, which was held at Kanazawa University on September 5, 2016.

The lecturer was the first awardee, Professor C. F. Jeff Wu of Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. The invited article of the first Akaike Memorial Lecture (with Discussion) was published on vol.70, No.2 of the Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics (AISM) in 2018.
