Abstract:
The item count technique is a practical indirect questioning technique that is used to estimate the proportion of people who have engaged in stigmatizing behavior. Recently, Tsuchiya (2005) proposed domain estimators, which were shown to have smaller standard errors than the conventional domain estimators, for the item count technique. The present paper discusses the validity of the assumption required for the proposed domain estimators.
